Magazine

It has been nearly two years since I first got the idea to produce a magazine devoted to the sport of surf kayaking.  I wanted to create a little magazine, inspired by the great skate ‘zines, that provided an outlet for surf kayaking stories that the mainstream paddlesports publications either had no room for or had no interest in printing.  Thus Interference Magazine was born.

Partly due to being extremely busy, and partly due to being daunted by the prospect, it has taken nearly two years to get Issue 1 of Interference put together.  It is nearly done, and I hope it will be both interesting to look at, and interesting to read. Interference Magazine will also expound on some of the trips and ideas from the upcoming kayak surf DVD Interference: A Kayak Surf Film.

Interference Magazine is a contributor based publication.  For now, the funding for the project is coming out of my own pocket.  I hope to present the opinions and ideas of a variety of different voices in the surf kayaking world in the pages of Interference.  I welcome anyone who has an idea for an article, has photos they’d like to get printed, or wishes to put forth some other sort of contribution.  Please do not hesitate to email me at Interferencesurf AT gmail DOT com if you’d like to participate.

Interference Issue 1 will be distributed digitally in high resolution PDF format, via InterferenceSurf.com.
As for plans to put it into print, we’ll just have to see how it goes.
